Knitting
Little Coastal Pullover
Modifications
Did not work decrease round on sleeves. I want this sweater to fit for a possible two winters, and felt sleeve tightness might be an issue.
Switching color at ribbing
End with either round 1 or round 5. Knit one round in Contrast Color. Switch to smaller needles. Work k1, p1 ribbing to specified measurements.
Bow
- CO 6 Sts
- Knit in the front loop and purl in the back loop of each stitch.
- {k1, slip one purlwise} across, 32 times.
- SSK, {ssk, slip second stitch off first stitch to bind off} across.
Wrap yarn around center and secure to sweater.

I’ve been promising my sister I would knit her something for a long time now. After trying to knit something out of the yarn I used for all the wedding shawls, I decided I wanted something… not blue. I had this yarn in my stash, and decided I wanted to play with new patterns. This is the result!
I hope you like it, Holly!
9/4/2012 – I’ve been making ever so slow progress on this beautiful item. I knitted up the first four repeats in a flash, but this last repeat has spanned over a month mostly due to overdue work projects and the sudden need to knit all things baby. Luckily Holly is patient.
Lucky me, indeed
I’ll need to buy a few more skeins to make up the difference, but this is pretty much the perfect sweater. Cables for warmth, side stockinette for speed and breathability.
I love the idea of double ribbing with a few rounds of curling stockinette at the end, particularly around the neck.

It turns out I’m not a huge fan of wide cables, and my gauge swatch lied to me. I’m frogging this project.
